This Two-Ingredient Chocolate Mousse can be made in under 5 minutes. The secret ingredient is a little bit of a shock, especially because time and time again you’ve been told to keep it far away from your chocolate.
If you guessed water, then you’re correct! We watched this video of this process invented by a french chemist that emulsifies chocolate as it’s melting into water. The result is a five-minute dessert that’s rich and without the cream, you can really taste the natural flavors of the chocolate – so make sure you use something high quality!
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 265 grams dark chocolate (chopped or wafers)
Directions
- Take a bowl with ice in it. Put another bowl on top. Set aside.
- Put water in the pan. Add chocolate to the water. Whisk while heating.
- When melted, pour the chocolate into the cold bowl you previously set aside.
- Whisk quickly until it thickens.
- Divide immediately and serve.
The best part is that if you over whisk it and it turns grainy, you can fix it. Just return it to the pan, whisk it until it’s melted and return it back into the bowl.
It taste great on its own, but this mousse would taste amazing in a tart, trifle, devil’s food cake, etc.
