When it comes to choosing a grill, how do you know which one is right for you? At my house, we have a charcoal grill. I don’t have a preference either way. I grew up with a gas grill, but my husband grew up with a charcoal grill. Since he does most of the grilling at our house, we have a charcoal grill.
Our friends at Weber Grills have a few questions that may help you decide. Today, I’ll share them with you so that you can make your choice.
Before we get to the questions, you should know this: Blind taste tests indicate that there is no significant difference in flavor either way. Why? Because it’s the juices that drip down and create smoke that give food that distinctive grilled taste. Your decision depends on what’s important to you.
Now that you know that, let’s get to the questions:
Do you mind getting your hands dirty? Do you believe that the grilling experience isn’t complete without starting or tending the fire as well as the food? Was outdoor cook the first boy/girl scout badge you ever earned?
If you answered yes to those questions, then it looks like a charcoal grill is best for you.
Don’t want the mess of starting a fire? Do you want precise temperature control? Do you want something with a little more cooking space?
If this set of questions sounded more like you, then a gas grill is your choice.
