Who doesn’t love homemade chocolate dipped caramels? Especially when it’s Peter’s Caramel? Today, we’re going to show you how you can make a quick neighbor gift using Peter’s caramel… with no melting!
What You Will Need to create yummy chocolate dipped caramels:
- Peter’s Caramel
- Milk chocolate wafers
- White chocolate wafers
- Topping of your choice: (we used crushed pistachios and peppermint crunch, but you can use any topping you’d like)
- Nut of your choice
- Peppermint crunch
- Cinnamon & sugar
- Crushed Oreo’s
- Sanding sugar
- Sprinkles
- Whatever else you can come up with
Instructions:
Step 1: Cut the 5 lb. loaf of Peter’s Caramel into small bite-size squares. This should be easy if your caramel has been left at room temperature.
Step 2: Melt your milk and white chocolate by using the 20 second rule.
Step 3: Using a food processor, chop up the topping of your choice. We used the Cuisinart spice & nut grinder to chop up the pistachios.
Step 4: Dip the top half of the bite-size caramel pieces into the chocolate of your choice.
Step 5: Immediately dip the chocolate-covered caramel into the topping of your choice while the chocolate is still wet.
Step 6: Let your dipped caramel set on parchment paper.
Step 7: When the chocolate-covered caramel has set, place the bite-size pieces into candy box. Wrap with ribbon and you’re done!
