Caramel apple cider is good for your soul, especially on those cold autumn days. Adding a bit of your own melted caramel sauce adds a homemade element that will truly set your cider apart from the rest.
What you’ll need for your caramel apple cider
This recipe yeilds approximately 12 ounces of caramel apple cider. It is important to note that the amount of water you use will depend on the amount of apple cider packets used. Adjust the caramel, evaporated milk, and vanilla measurements accordingly.
water
1 1/2 tablespoons Peter’s Caramel (melted)
2-5 teaspoons evaporated milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
In a sauce pan combine water, apple cider and vanilla. Keep over medium heat while you melt your Peter’s Caramel. Add the evaporated milk one teaspoon at a time until your caramel turns into a runny sauce.
Pour the caramel into the sauce pan with the apple cider and stir. Keep on heat for a couple more minutes until your drink begins to look like spiced cider. Remove from heat, pour into a glass, and serve with a stick of cinnamon and an anise star.
For a more festive look, carve out apples to use your cider cups! You can always melt more caramel to dip the apple pieces into!
Enjoy!
