Crostinis are a great option for a quick finger food to serve at any party. These little toasts can be topped with almost any ingredient. We love to use these two easy toppings on our crostinis.
What you’ll need
2 baguettes (serves 8-10 guests)
Topping Choice 1
Goat cheese (1 log for 2 baguettes)
Slow roasted tomatoes (1 tomato per guest)
Fresh bunches of thyme
Topping Choice 2
4-5 Small avocados (for 2 baguettes)
Sesame seeds
Fresh bunches of basil
2-3 lemons
Olive oil for drizzling
Broil each baguette for 1-2 minutes. Keep a close eye on them until they become golden brown on top. Assemble the first toast by spreading goat cheese on each slice. Slice one roasted tomato for each slice of baguette and place the sliced tomato on top. Sprinkle the fresh thyme to finish.
For an easy way to remove the thyme bunches from the stems is to use an herb stripper. It’s a simple tool that makes stripping your herbs a fast and easy process.
For the second topping, drizzle a little olive oil onto the toasted baguette slices. Top each slice with a couple thin wedges of avocado. To keep your avocado wedges looking nice and smooth we recommend using an avocado slicer for even and smooth wedges. Top the avocado with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and some fresh basil. Finish with a light squeeze of lemon over the top.
