It’s so easy, it’s hard for us to even call it a recipe. With just two ingredients, this magic shell recipe makes topping your ice cream even more fun.
We like to use dark chocolate. Not only does dark chocolate have health benefits, but coconut oil does too! It’s just a shame it’s going on ice cream or it’d almost be a healthy dessert! Maybe try putting it on a frozen banana.
You can use this recipe for dipping your ice cream cones or just throwing on a sundae. You can throw on toppings before it sets and even use different flavored chocolate instead of dark.
Because of the melting point of the coconut oil, the magic shell will stay liquid in a hot kitchen and solidify after sitting in a cold kitchen or the fridge.
Ingredients
- 1 cup good quality dark chocolate
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- Ice cream, for serving
Directions
- Chop your chocolate (if in block or bar form) and add small, chip-size pieces to a microwave-safe container with coconut oil. Melt in 30-second intervals until liquid. Pour over ice cream and watch it harden. Then crack it open. Magic! If your leftover shell hardens, just re-melt in the microwave.
