We are always looking for a fun way to share our love during the Holiday season. Giving thought presents to our friends and neighbors help to spread Christmas cheer.
You can bet we are filling our kitchens full of treats and desserts to pass along (chocolate covered popcorn, pretzel rods, peppermint bark).
But these gifts are also great for sharing. Not only are they some of our favorite tools to use, they are also quickly turned into a gift with a cute tag and a little ribbon. Your friends and family will be grateful to receive something they can use all year round!
Here is a collection of our 4 favorite (less-than-a-dollar) gifts… in no particular order!
First up, the Gygi Brownie Spatula is a favorite year round! One of the most universal tools in the kitchen, they are perfect for serving the perfect brownie square, casserole, cake, or really any baked dessert. Additionally, they are wonderful for getting stubborn stuck-on food off dishes, removing sticky residue on windows, and even destroying the stuck-on-who-knows-what off the floors.
I like to buy the white handled ones for food use and the wooden handled ones for cleaning- just so I don’t get them mixed up in the drawer! And for less than two dollars you can afford to have multiples for all uses!
If you are looking for some fun sayings to accompany your Brownie Spatula for Christmas:
“Serving up a Happy Holiday”
“It’s beginning to “cook” a lot like Christmas”
The next neightbor gift ideas is the Gygi Sandwich Spreader. These sandwich spreaders have a straight and serrated edge! They are perfect for cutting into things like bagels or rolls and then spreading all the wonderful jams, jellies, butters and anything else you can think of! They fit nicely in the drawer and I find myself even grabbing them for cutting small things like grape tomatoes or small soft fruits! They come in wood or plastic handles and again, you can’t have too many of these!
We’ve attached a fun tag saying:
“We’re “spreading” holiday cheer with you!”
“We hope this helps “spread” a little Holiday cheer”
Next is the Gygi Mini Whisk. Although this little whisk is small in size, it is a kitchen workhorse. I find myself using it for little jobs almost daily. It is perfect if you are whisking up an egg or two, mixing together a dressing or marinade, or adding flavoring to your hot chocolate! Store this in the silverware drawer or somewhere it won’t get overlooked!
And you can’t go wrong with the fun saying, “We ‘whisk’ you a Merry Christmas!”
Star of Bethlehem Cookie Cutter
Last is a classic cookie cutter. Cookie cutters are a fun, easy-to-send gift for the Holidays. We see stars, hearts, trees, santa, angels, and LOTS of snowflakes leaving the store in large bunches. It seems that everyone can use a cookie cutter and they’ll be reminded of your kindness each time they use it!
Here is a story to send out with your Star of Bethlehem Cookie Cutter:
The Legend of the Christmas Star
A diamond shines no brighter
Than that lovely Christmas star,
It shines in all its brilliance;
It’s seen from near or far.
A symbol of the Christ child
As He lay upon the hay,
It tells to all the waiting world
A King was born that day.
O’ Bethlehem Star keep shining –
Give us faith and hope and love.
Keep our thoughts forever turning
To the Savior up above.
Give us strength and hope and courage
To do our best by far
And never falter in our faith
As we watch that Christmas star.
I hope these (non-treat) neighbor gift ideas are helpful. What are your favorite neighbor gifts to give and receive?
