These treats combine two favorite flavors – chocolate and peanut butter. These are a rather simplified version of a truffle, but we still love them because they are so easy. And these chocolate peanut butter truffle squares are super customizable depending on the type of chocolate and peanut butter you decide to use. Get ready to sink your teeth into this delicious and festive treat!
Prepare a 8x8 or 9x9 baking sheet with parchment paper. In a microwave safe bowl, start melting chocolate layer by warming up 1 cup milk or dark chocolate with ⅓ cup peanut butter in microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring in-between rounds until smooth. Spread into bottom of pan, tap on the counter to smooth, and let cool (don’t let set for too long and don’t put in the fridge). Melt peanut butter chips and ⅔ cup peanut butter. When the first layer is set, but not cold, quickly spread peanut butter layer on top, tap on the counter to smooth, and let cool. Melt final cup of chocolate with ⅓ cup peanut butter. Spread over peanut butter layer and sprinkle with toppings of your choice. All for all layers to fully set. Cut and serve. Note: You can use whatever chocolate you like or what you have on hand. Because you are mixing the chocolate with the peanut butter it does not require tempering. Chocolate Peanut Butter Truffle Squares with Connie McDonald
