Ready to let go of the traditional green bean casserole at your holiday table? Say goodbye to soggy green beans and hello to these fresh, salty garlic butter green beans no one will be able to resist. Yeah, you might even get your kids to eat their vegetables with this delicious addition this year.
All the kitchen tools you need for this recipe are a sauté pan, a bowl for the ice bath, some tongs, and a beautiful serving bowl. We also love using Diamond Crystal Kosher Salt for this recipe. It adds just the right flavor profile and the flakes are so easy to see and distribute. Ready to try these perfect garlic butter green beans? Lets go!
Wash and trim the green beans. Add water to a sauté pan and boil. Quickly blanch the green beans in the water, just a few minutes, until they look bright green. Transfer the green beans to an ice bath to cool. Drain water from the sauté pan, add butter, and reheat over medium heat. When the butter is melted, add the garlic and sauté just until fragrant (don't burn the garlic). Drain the beans and transfer back into the pan. Cook until just heated through. Salt to taste. And serve hot!Ingredients
